Recently, we received an urgent request from a customer in Oxford. Their oilseed rape (OSR) sample contained a significant amount of admixture, which would have led to deductions or even rejection from the buyer if the crop was not cleaned. To address this, we promptly dispatched a mobile seed processor to their farm.
Our mobile unit, equipped with an aspirator and our 3-screen Marot rotary drum cleaner, efficiently processed the 60-tonne batch of oilseed rape, quickly turning it into a saleable product. Our dedicated operators, Jamie and Aaron, began their journey at 5 AM to ensure we were on-site and operational by 8 AM. This early start was crucial given the changeable weather conditions, allowing us to complete the cleaning before the afternoon rain arrived.
The customer expressed great satisfaction with the final sample and was particularly pleased with the minimal amount of saleable seed removed during the process.
This type of on-site service, provided by mobile processors, highlights the significant value we add to UK arable farming, even when not engaged in traditional seed processing activities. It was another day dedicated to helping our customers achieve the best possible results.
